Anti Aging Home Remedies – Anti Aging Herbs

September 5th, 2011 by admin No comments »

Because aging is not a disease and cannot be healed, we will concentrate on a couple of main points: The types of conditions people develop as they age, and the dreaded and most hated, premature aging.

As we get older, we quickly realize that the vitality we enjoyed as kids has now abandoned us as adults. As we age essential body fluids such as reproductive fluids, skin moisture, secretions of the endocrine system (hormones), and basic secretions such as lubrication of the joints have dried up and diminished. Skin wrinkling, sexual dysfunction and arthritic conditions are all a result of this occurrence. Both men and women are affected differently depending on what hormones are involved.

Anti aging for men

One of the most common problems of aging for men is a diminished *** drive. This is a result of a reduction in testosterone levels. In addition, the prostate begins to enlarge resulting in what is known as BPH (benign prostate hypertrophy), which if left unchecked can cause a variety of urinary problems. These problems include, too frequent urination, not enough urination, and in severe cases pain.

The male hormone shift can greatly benefit from exercise, and adequate sleep. Physical activity is also good for the prostate and could help diminish prostate enlargement. The prostate gland is located behind the male scrotum, and can be felt through the ****. In addition, regular Kegel type exercises every day, where one repetitively contracts the spincter muscles of the anus, comparable to the motion of trying to stop and start ********* midstream, repeated a number of times in sequence throughout the day, is a very efficient treatment for maintaining prostate health.

Male prostate problems can be helped immensely with a variety of foods and herbs. The known action of foods and herbs that mitigate BPH is to thwart the development of testosterone in dihydrotestosterone in the prostate gland. One of the simplest treatments to maintain prostate health is to eat a few tablespoons of pumpkin seeds each day. Taking supplemental zinc is also very helpful to dropping the size of the prostate gland.

A number of herbs available are just as effective as drug medication for the prostate, but without the side effects. These herbs include saw palmetto berries, pygeum, and the root of the stinging nettles.

Anti aging herbs

The best anti aging herb is a great Chinese herb that you cannot get anywhere but China. The herb is called Wuling ginseng. Although it is called ginseng, it is not related to the ginseng family. It is a fungus that grows in a discarded white ant terminary. Because of its immune tonic benefits, increasing vitality while at the same time inducing calm, restful state and broadly treating a number of symptoms associated with hormonal imbalances it is greatly associated with ginseng.

This herb is beneficial for all ages, but it is a universal remedy for all imbalances related to aging.

This herb has immune system and anticancer properties, which increases the immune system by increasing white blood cells. In addition, it increases the cytotoxic action of macrophages in destroying tumor cells by stimulating the production of lymphokine interleukin.

This herb has anti-anemia function, which is helpful in escalating red blood cells and therefore, counteracts anemia.

This herb also has sedative, sleep enhancing, and memory-enhancing properties in which, it promotes patterns of sound, restful sleep. In concurrence with this, it has a unique brain protective action, enhancing memory and alleviating depression.

This herb is also antifatigue, in which it increases energy and counteracts stress, as confirmed in a number of studies.

This herb also has an antisenility action; Studies were done using a female fruit fly, in which it significantly prolonged its life.

This herb also helps urine output and frequency, in which it increased the urinary output of rats by one-hundred and forty percent, and in humans, this means better urinary output and eventually less frequent urges. It also improved urea-nitrogen filtration, thus aiding overall detoxification.

Wuling ginseng has been proven repeatedly in a variety of tests and studies conducted by the Chinese manufacturer to be beneficial for a litany of hormone-related problems in men and women. When studies were done on men with BPH, it was found to be over ninety percent effective in reducing the size of the prostate and regulating urine flow. In the case of women, it was found to be highly helpful for regulating menstruation through all ages as well as the symptoms leading up to and occurring during menopause.

Women and aging

When it comes to women, perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause are all different situations with different considerations. The exact meaning of menopause is the period beginning one year after the monthly cycle has ceased. Nonetheless, the time leading up to menopause also called perimenopause can proceed for years before there is a noticeable stopping of menstruation. Hot flashes, difficulty sleeping, poor memory, mood changes, headaches, vaginal dryness, and night sweats are all a wide variety of symptoms experienced during this period. Depending on the individual, these symptoms can go on for years or weeks.

As a temporary way to alleviate the symptoms, some doctors will recommend hormone replacement surgery. During this procedure estrogen and/or progesterone is taken in supplementary form. Most women however, do not opt for this procedure, because it is believed to increase the risk of ****** cancer. Therefore, alternatives to this treatment, which include estrogenic food and herbs, are a welcome alternative for most women.

Exercise is among one of the best treatment for age related problems for both men and women. Try to start and maintain a regular exercise program. Another important key to the regulation of hormones is called isoflavones. These compounds found in some herbs and foods are able to engage the hormone receptor sites in the body and either block hormone absorption if it is too much or enable it by converting to the needed hormone when it is too little.

Vitamin E and vitamin C have been recognized by a number of women to be very effective in relieving hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms. A number of studies have proven the positive experiences of these vitamins. Vitamin E is also known as the anti-aging vitamin, and is beneficial to coronary health.

Leading up to and during menopause there are beneficial herbs that have been proven effective over the span of many years. One of these herbs is black cohosh, which was used by Native American women, and immigrant European women. Black cohosh contains estrogenic activity, which was proven during recent studies in Germany. Symptoms of menopause including hot flashes, and uncomfortable vaginal dryness due to decreased estrogen were reduced by using this herb.

Another well-known herb from Europe called chastetree berry is known to normalize female *** hormones. It has exacting benefits in helping to regulate both progesterone and estrogen levels and alleviating all menstrual irregularities as well as depression linked with premenstrual disorder and the menopausal years.

Red clover is another great herb, it is related to the bean family, and like its relative the soybean, is high in potent isoflavones and will naturally increase estrogen. This herb is also found to have anticancer properties.

Dong quai is an herb used in traditional Chinese medicine as a blood tonic for women, and it helps regulate menstruation. It works by promoting circulation throughout the uterine cavity and consequently enhancing all related functions.

Although declining hormones is one of the mainly evident causes of aging in both men and women, there are other symptoms and tendencies as well. Both men and women, but more so in women, thyroid function slows as we get older and the related slower metabolism of food often results in the gaining of weight. Cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis also becomes a greater risk. Arthritic and rheumatic problems are also ubiquitous complaints of aging.

Premature aging

Wrinkling, drying skin, brittle bones, gray hair, and loss of sexual desire are all symptoms generally associated with aging. These symptoms can show up in men and women as early as their thirties or early forties. Aging is also a genetic problem, but through life-style changes and proper diet and exercise, it can be slowed significantly. If you are serious about slowing down the aging process, a great longevity program that includes exercise, wholesome diet, clean air, restful sleep, and eliminating stress will put you on the right track.

Excellent Information For Tooth Whitening

What is tooth whitening?

Tooth whitening can be a highly effective way of lightening the natural colour of your teeth without removing any of the tooth surface. It cannot make a complete colour change; but it will lighten the existing shade.

Tooth bleaching, also known as tooth whitening, is a common procedure in general dentistry but most especially in the field of cosmetic dentistry. A child’s deciduous teeth are generally whiter than the adult teeth that follow. The procedure to bleach teeth uses oxidising agents such as hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide to lighten the shade of the tooth. The bleaching agent is typically less than 10% hydrogen peroxide equivalent.

Bleaching is least effective if your teeth have white spots, decay or infected gums. Bleaching is most effective with yellow discolored teeth.

Side effects of tooth whitening bleaching include: chemical burns (if a high-concentration oxidising agent contacts unprotected tissues, which may bleach or discolor mucous membranes), sensitive teeth, and overbleaching (known in the profession as “over white teeth”). Tissue irritation most commonly results from an ill-fitting mouthpiece tray rather than the tooth-bleaching agent. Anyone allergic to peroxide (the whitening agent) should not use a bleaching product. Also, prolonged exposure to bleaching agents may damage tooth enamel. Tooth whitener – whitening oral hygiene products. A tooth whitener product can bleach the tooth, which means that it actually changes the natural tooth color. Bleaching products contain peroxide that help remove deep and surface stains.

In today’s fast world, no one cares about healthy food; we have gotten so busy in our lives that we prefer to munch a burger or other junk food instead of worrying about its nutrient value or the hazard it is doing to the body. Saying no to vegetables is becoming a trend and people now end up going out for spicy food which has very little or mostly no health value at all.

The major food nutrients include carbohydrates, protein, fat, vitamins, and minerals; our body needs an adequate amount of all of these to function properly. Any deficiency or over dosage of any will be very harmful for us. There are certain nutrients which maintain healthy skin bones and eyes, let’s have a look at them.

Protein is a macronutrient and a basic component of body-cells; it is a building block of skin, hair and nails. It helps in repairing the body tissue and protects it from wear and tear. Carbohydrates provide the body with glucose and energy.

Vitamins are enzymes that play a vital role and maintain healthy skin bones and eyes. They promote healthy bones and teeth; enhance the protection and regeneration of cells and mucous membrane, and keep the hair and nails strong. Vitamin D is very important for bones as it helps the body to absorb and utilize calcium and phosphorus which are very essential for bones and teeth.

Vitamin E is known for its ability to rejuvenate cells and maintain normal conditions to the skin tissues. It also protects red blood cells and hence keeps the body healthy. Vitamin B2 helps in protecting eyes from various damage.

Vitamin C is a very important enzyme, it is a well known antioxidant, and it helps in the synthesis of collagen which restores skin elasticity; promotes the growth and repair of cells, teeth and bones.

Vitamin A is very important for eye and skin health, as it prevents us from blindness and dry eyes and also maintains vision. It also promotes development to ensure healthy bones and teeth. Lack of it will result in dry, scaly and itchy skin, as well as hair loss and bone pains etc.

Minerals like iron, calcium, phosphorus and sodium are also important for healthy skin and over all body health. Fresh fruits and vegetables should be added to the diet plan because they are rich in essential nutrients. Excessive washing, preserving or overcooking results in wastage of water-soluble or oil soluble minerals and vitamins. Avoid that and eat healthy to maintain healthy skin bones and eyes.

May 28th, 2011 by admin No comments »

The best way to improved health and looks is without a doubt a well-balanced diet. People often don’t think about what the right food for healthy skin is, and only look at what topical care products they are using.

But the truth is that for optimum skin health you’ll want to look at getting all the nutrients you need to be healthy first, and after that look at your topical products.

Most food for healthy skin is mostly delicious too, so it’s a win-win situation. Those foods are often rich in antioxidants, which are great for anti-aging not only for your looks but for the whole body.

The Best Food for Healthy Skin

Some of the best foods for healthy skin are them containing vitamin C, like kiwifruits, oranges, papayas and any kind of berry.

This is because vitamin C assists the production of collagen, the protein which makes the skin firm and youthful. It also strengthens the skin and blood vessels, and helps wounds to heal quicker.

Another powerful vitamin is vitamin A, which is often referred to as a beauty-vitamin. It is found in foods like carrots, spinach, eggs and fish. Vitamin A produces new skin cells, protects the skin against damage and prevents topical problems and diseases.

Foods like nuts, bananas and avocados are rich in vitamin B5, a great nutrient for accelerated cell growth and repairing of skin damage.

Minerals are also of great importance for healthy skin, for example zinc and magnesium. These are found in for example Brazil nuts and dark leafy greens.

If you find it all too hard and want an easier way to insure you’ll get a healthy, vibrant look then start taking high quality natural dietary supplements – this way you don’t have to worry about it.

When you are sure you are getting all those nutrients for healthy skin, start thinking about your present topical care regimen. Are you using products filled with harmful chemicals? Does your skin cream contain proven effective ingredients?

Teeth Whitening Products – Teeth White Strips

May 26th, 2011 by admin No comments »

Teeth white strips are the ideal choice if you want whiter teeth. Let’s face it, today people are very conscious about teeth. Straight white teeth are the norm even though they are not natural and take effort to get them that way. Luckily, great advancements have been made in teeth whitening procedures so you don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars at the dentist’s office anymore if you want beautiful white teeth thanks to teeth white strips.

Teeth white strips are very convenient. You can use them in the comfort of your home any time you get a few spare minutes. Some strips need to be left on for up to 30 minutes; some only require 5 minutes. Other strips slowly dissolve in your mouth which makes them perfect to use on the go. Typically, teeth white strips are applied twice a day for a period of a week to ten days. The treatment will probably need to be repeated about once a year to remove coffee stains and the natural yellowing that occurs with aging.

Teeth white strips are affordable too. You could easily spend hundreds of dollars to get your teeth whitened at the dentist office. You can buy a box of teeth white strips for less than $50. Some brands are less than $25. You can catch them on sale or use a coupon and get them for even less. To get the best price, shop online where you can compare prices among several different stores. If you order online, don’t forget to factor in the cost of shipping.

The best thing about teeth white strips is that they really do work. The convenience and price wouldn’t be all that appealing if they didn’t do a good job of whitening your teeth. You can expect anything from a half a shade to 3 full shades whiter depending upon the brand of strips you use.

There is a difference among brands. The procedure for using them is different, the prices are different and the results are different. You will need to choose the brand of teeth white strips that are best for you depending upon how you intend to use them and how much whiter you want your teeth to become.

Are you wondering if teeth white strips are safe? Most home teeth whitening products work on the same principle, applying hydrogen peroxide to the enamel. This has proven over time to be safe. The degree of whitening you will achieve depends upon the percentage of peroxide the product contains and the length of time it comes into contact with your teeth.

If you want whiter teeth, then using teeth white strips is the best way to go. You can lighten your teeth gradually over time so they appear more natural. You won’t have to deal with messy gels and devices. The best part is you won’t have to take time from your busy schedule to spend an afternoon at the dentist and shell out big bucks to get the same results you can get on your own at home using economical and easy to use teeth white strips.

Tooth Whitening Products – What’s the Difference?

May 21st, 2011 by admin No comments »

Are you embarrassed by yellow teeth? Do you want to bleach, but do not know which product to use? Are they all the same? Of course they are not.

As a registered dental hygienist, I have studied the different tooth whitening products. Here is what it all boils down to. It’s all in the percentage of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The higher percentage will give the best results. For over-the-counter whitening products, federal regulations will only allow up to 10% H2O2. For example, Crest Whitestrips contains 6%. Whitestrips will lighten your tooth shade by maybe 1 or 2 shades. For people with already white teeth but just need a little extra help, this will work fine for them.

For those who need more help, there are alternatives. You will need to get these from your dentist. Professional strength whitestrips are 14% peroxide. These work great for many people. These may lighten your teeth 5 to 7 shades. The kit contains 21 days worth of strips. Use these only 1 to 2 hours a day.

The next step up is bleaching trays. Your dentist will have to make these for you. These will be customized to fit your teeth. You buy the bleach to put in the trays. The bleach for these trays comes in 10%, 15% and 20%. Most people cannot handle 20% as it makes their teeth very sensitive. Usually the bleach comes in 4 syringes. It is enough for 4 weeks if you bleach 1 time a week.

Then there is the professional in-office bleaching. And again, there are different strengths. Zoom, Bright Smiles, and Opalescence range from 10% to 38%. Zoom and Bright Smiles uses a light to help. Opalescence does not use a light. Studies have shown that the light does not do really do anything. The tooth bleaches to a certain shade with or without the light. The 38% peroxide will lighten from 15 to 18 shades. This is not always the case. Everyone is different. Yellow teeth bleach easier than gray teeth. Tetracycline stained teeth may need 2 professional appointments with a series of at-home treatments. Please discuss with your dentist or dental hygienist which option will work best for you.

Cost will make a difference in your decision.
1. OTC whitestrips – $30.00
2. Professional whitestrips – $ 60.00 – 80.00
3. Bleaching trays – $150.00 – 300.00
4. Bleach to put in trays – $30.00 – 50.00
5. Professional in-office bleaching – $200.00 – 600.00 (some include trays)

Stains from cigarette, coffee, tea, wine, and food must be removed by a dental hygienist before whitening. The bleach cannot reach the teeth through these extrinsic stains.

If your teeth become sensitive after bleaching, here are some things you can do. Gel cam is a fluoride gel in a tube that works very well. You can rub it on your teeth and leave on for 4 minutes or put it in bleaching trays for 1 hour. Gelcam can be bought at a store like Wal-Mart or your dentist office. Fluoride rinses from the drugstore are milder but will help a little. Some dental offices carry desensitizing gels.

I hope I have made your tooth whitening decisions a little easier. Everyone feels prettier when they have a beautiful smile.

Foods For Healthy Skin – Breakfast Style

May 21st, 2011 by admin No comments »

For many of us, the morning alarm rings far too early and often the last thing on a struggling-to-wake-up mind is a nourishing breakfast, especially a nourishing breakfast that meets diet-for-good-skin criteria. If your AM attitude needs a stumble to the coffeepot before becoming presentable and a nutrition for healthy skin tune-up, maybe it’s time to try a new routine.

The first thing to realize is that breakfast, a word first coined in the mid-15th century, comes from the term “break the fast”. It is meant to be the meal that breaks the fast from supper the night before. When people explain their reasoning behind not eating breakfast, it is often that they are not hungry. Once their dietary habits are examined, however, it seems the lack of hunger in the morning is often because they eat their evening meal too late or snack after supper.

In order for the body to have ample time to digest the last meal of the day and then be able to spend energy on other tasks such as elimination-a process you want working well if you want clear, healthy skin-it is best to finish eating by 7:00 or 8:00pm. If late night snacking is curtailed, the body usually feels much more like digging into hearty morning fare that supplies the essential nutrients needed for body and skin health and less like settling for a quick cup of Java.

Even for those who wake up hungry, morning time constraints often mean breakfast is skipped or minimized. Unfortunately that means insufficient calories or nutrients are taken in before beginning the day’s many tasks or what is grabbed is deficient in the protein, A and B vitamins and zinc that growing healthy skin requires. If, contrary to the children’s song, daybreak does not find you in your place with a bright, shiny and clear skinned face, how about giving the following diet-for-good-skin suggestions a try:
